Hermitage Animal Clinic

The staff at Hermitage Animal Clinic are great! Dr. Hand saw our 15 year old cat for an annual checkup. They were prompt and so loving with Chanel.

I’m giving two stars only because the staff was friendly and my visit was handled in a timely manner. However, when I scheduled the initial consultation for my almost one-year-old, 7-pound kitten, I was told that a spay would cost between $250 and $400 at most. During the appointment, I was told she was in excellent health, so I had no reason to expect anything different. After I left the clinic, I received an estimate of $750–$800 for the procedure. While they explained that the estimate was based on the information they had at the time and was subject to change, there isn’t much room for that explanation when the quote is nearly double the maximum price I was originally given. I feel misled by the pricing information I was provided when scheduling the appointment. Had I been given a realistic estimate upfront, I could have made an informed decision before taking the time to come in. Transparency about pricing from the beginning would have been appreciated.
