To the incredible Veterinary Technicians and Doctors,
There are moments in life when "thank you" simply doesn't seem like enough. This is one of those moments.
Over the past year, you cared for our sweet Furby Derby with a level of compassion, dignity, and respect that meant more to our family than words can express. Every new bump in the road was met with honesty, guidance, and kindness. You never gave us false hope, but you never took hope away either. Instead, you walked beside us, helping us make each decision with Furby's comfort and quality of life at the center.
Several months ago, one of you gently said something that has stayed with us:
"We should start thinking about his comfort and quality of life if this doesn't work."
Those words weren't spoken to take something from us. They were spoken to prepare us, with grace, for the greatest act of love a family can give a beloved pet.
Today, when it was time to say goodbye, every one of you showed extraordinary compassion. You gave us time. You gave us privacy. You treated Furby not as another appointment on the schedule, but as a cherished member of our family. You treated us with kindness when our hearts were breaking.
Before we came to see you, we took all of our fur babies for Starbucks pup cups and then took the scenic route because Furby always loved a good car ride. We wanted his last morning to feel like one of his favorite days. When we arrived, you helped us make sure his final moments were peaceful. I stayed by his side, talking to him and watching his face until he quietly slipped across the rainbow bridge. Mom & Dad never left him. Because of your care, he was never frightened, and he was never alone.
As a retired paramedic, I've spent a lifetime caring for people on some of the worst days of their lives. I know what compassion looks like in healthcare. I know it can't be taught from a textbook alone. It comes from people who genuinely care.
You demonstrated that compassion every step of the way.
Thank you for loving our little buddy as much as you did. Thank you for treating him with dignity. Thank you for caring for us while you cared for him.
Our hearts are broken tonight, but they are also filled with gratitude for each of you.
Run free, Furby Derby.
With our deepest gratitude,
Mike & Cindy Doss
I am very unhappy with this vet clinic....I called on Saturday with an emergency.... asking for my dog to be seen she was having trouble breathing....they told me they couldn't see her and I would have to take her over 30 minutes away to Clarksville....my dog coded and died on the way to the other vet and they were unable to save her....I'm extremely unhappy that I lost my over $5000 dog that was a full breed dog that might could have been saved if she had gotten medical attention sooner! Horrible clinic....stay away!
After an 18 month long journey of chronic ear infections with one of our dogs, we wound up at Roberston County Animal Clinic for a second opinion. We decided to try RCAC out as they are closer, than our primary, and my in-laws have used them for years with no issues. Dr Mixon spent the time and did his due dilligence to find the root cause of infection- a polyp in her ear canal. Dr Mixon and his team have removed the polyp, and we are well on our way to recovery. We are grateful for everyone at RCAC and so is our sweet pup!
